From my series on figure drawing and gender roles, created in Port Townsend, Washington at the Centrum Artist Residency.
These drawings have been personal investigations in both physical materials and conceptual meaning. It wasn't my intention to make a series of self portraits, but it felt like a good anecdote to anxiety. It is a very gentle push into what it might look like for me to lay around the house in repose without worrying about the cleanliness of the house, emails, whether I am doing a good enough job. A very gentle push outside of gender roles.
